This may seem like a good idea, but the truth may actually surprise you. While many firms are able to offer their customers custom-made shutters, what they are actually offering are custom-made interior shutters. Compared to wood shutters, vinyl shutters are much cheaper and last a great deal longer than wooden ones. This is due to the reason that they do not crack and split over time the way that wood does. Additionally, the paint has a tendency to fade and peel, therefore they need to be repainted often to keep their appearance new. Nobody wants to deal with this extra labor and expense.
